DanceEast - The Forest AND a Treasure Hunt!, 25/02/2012

This is the new way to play Treasure Hunt. It’s called ‘Geocaching’ and all you need is a mobile phone, rather than a map and compass. To mark the launch of ‘The Forest’, a dance show for families coming to DanceEast this month, a ‘cache’ – that’s the treasure – has been hidden somewhere in a forest in the Ipswich area. Have a go at finding it by logging onto www.itstheforest.com/hunt.

Geocaching is the new worldwide treasure hunting craze. You can find the caches with a GPS device, with one of many smartphone apps, or just by plugging the co-ordinates into Google Maps and following the written directions. It's immensely popular, completely free, great fun, and there are caches hidden almost everywhere in the country.

Then come and see The Forest. It’s an exciting performance for everyone aged five and over which explores the animals and landscape of the forest through music and dance. All in an exquisite set made of real trees. Back in the UK, after a sell-out run at Sydney Opera House, The Forest is coming to DanceEast, Ipswich on Friday 24 at 1.30pm and Saturday 25 February at 11.00am and 2.00pm. Tickets are £10 (£6 for concessions). To book phone Box Office 01473 295230 or visit www.danceeast.co.uk.
